The winter season that runs from November through June, snow is always deep and reliable. Located in the central Columbia Mountains enjoys a fortunate combination of climate and topography, producing deep snow and generally moderate temperatures. The Durrand Glacier and the Mt. Moloch area have over 24 scenic peaks, all accessible to skiers. Their majestic forms are crowned by sharp ridges and impressive mountain faces. Fourteen spectacular glaciers carve in between these mountains, providing long powder slopes up to 5000 vertical feet. Some slopes reach far down into the deep forested valleys. The trails are professionally groomed and are well maintained. Revelstoke`s long snowy winters provide excellent conditions. A wide variety of winter recreation is all available here, and with our average snowfall of 60 feet, you are assured to have an adventure like no other. The Revelstoke Hydro Dam has a very interesting self-guided tour, including many displays, exhibits, and even a lookout from the top of the dam.
